Designed in celebration of the 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend and the famous Black Sheep Skate Shop, the Nike SB x NBA Dunk High Pro 'Black Sheep' Shoes take design inspiration from the original Air Jordan 1s whilst incorporating colours that pay homage to the store’s hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina.
The uppers are crafted from iridescent leather which reveals tones of teal, purple and black underneath dark grey elephant print overlays across the sides, front of the toe and continuing around the back. The design was previously seen on Air Jordan 3 styles and also references the texture found within a hornet’s nest. Black elongated swoosh ticks flow over both layers and include metallic silver embroidered accents that further reflect references to the insect, painting the picture of its stinger. Ventilation has been added across the top of the toes through an array of small perforated holes below the heavily padded tongue that has a textured fabric outer - woven with a durable honeycomb style print - below the black cotton lace up fastening with reinforced eyestays and custom hexagonal eyelets. Co-branding can be seen at the top of the tongue with a Nike SB x Black Sheep woven label and on the underside of the ear flaps, which connect the uppers to the laces, you’ll see a hidden illustration of a hornet’s wing design.
Offering premium ankle support, the high top silhouette is heavily padded and works alongside Nike Air units within the sockliners that feature a custom digital print design showing Nike SB x NBA branding surrounded by a hexagonal hornet’s hive construction print, an array of hornets and a split Nike swoosh in orange. Layered upon a black rubber midsole, a flexible translucent outsole includes a grip focused design with pivot circle and Nike SB branding in the centre.
